WTB...early Bugeye Sprite grille.
I believe these grilles didn't have the wide chrome band along the top.
Doesn't have to be in perfect shape..dings, slight surface rust OK.
Picture attached for reference.
Thanks in advance.

Joe,

All of the Bugeye grilles had the lip across the top. But a lot of people cut the lip off, me included. I have a grille in the garage with no lip. I found a reasonably priced used grille on ebay that had a big dent in the lip and cut it off.

Modifying the Frogeye, or Bugeye, grill was a common practice during the early rally and racing history. Quite often alternate bars were removed from the lattice work to open up the grill for more airflow. In other examples the lattice work was removed entirely and replaced with chicken wire screening.

In all honesty KenG I thought about using chicken wire!
But this site works great !
I posted early this morning for a (cutdown) grille...a member contacted me right away and by 11:30 the deal was done !
Now if someone has a slightly worn 14" leather wrapped MotoLita they wanted to part with..life would be perfect !
Happy New Year !
