1960 Austin-Healey Bugeye Sprite "Buggy" ~ For Sale ! ~
1968 Austin-Healey Sprite "Bluey"
1969 MG MGC "Greeny"
Bugeye Sprite as described below no longer available at this time.

Cheers
Lew

1960 Bugeye Sprite (Build Oct 1960, Titled 1961) with new unmounted Ashley fiberglass front and original Ashley Mk1 Sprite hardtop. This was to be my next project following the recently completed Sebring Sprite, but have decided to focus on a recently acquired MGC roadster.

All the hard and expensive metal work is completed on this car.

The Bugeye body is rock solid, and I would say rust free. The underside is sealed with autobody sealant and then coated with POR15. Body is ready for final body work and paint. Original color was Cherry Red. New metal work included inner and outer rocker panels, driver and passenger floors, foot well side panels, battery tray and heater duct section, new steering rack cross member, new trunk floor and rear sealing panels. Other minor metal work repairs completed, including complete clean out and anti-rust coating of rear bulkhead pockets and spring hanger area when floor was replaced.

Hi Lew,

Kindly remind me about Ashley details.

1) Were all Ashley’s fiberglass?
2) Any racing history? FIA homologation?
3) What chassis were they generally built on? AN5, AN6 etc.? 1/4 elliptical or semi-elliptical springs? 948, 1098 or 1275?

Hi Ken,

In response

1) Yes, all fiberglass. This hardtop was the 2nd made for the Bugeye, the first was more bulbous in shape.
2) Not sure. There are some Sprites running in the UK with Ashley hardtop and fronts, but I am not sure about FIA homologation.
3) This style hardtop is exclusively for the AN5 chassis and does not replace the Bugeye rear panels, as it is designed to be removable. The front would actually go onto any chassis and would work with any engine spec.

There is actually a different style front and Ashley hardtop available for Mk2 - 4, which has a flip style rear section. You can see these at ASHLEY GT site http://www.ashleygt.co.uk/

I would also do a partial trade for a good rust free Bugeye steel bonnet or fiberglass Bugeye front.

Cheers
Lew
