Need the experts to weigh in here.
I am trying to remove the wiper switch from the dash panel (early type dash). I have loosened the two opposing nuts holding it tight to the dash.
Now I do not know how to remove the switch from the dash. It is an OEM switch with vestigial fabric covered wires still in place.
I need to remove either the knob or the actual switch from the shaft to separate it from the dash. So how does one do this? Is it pressed together? Threaded? I see a very small set pin in the black plastic end of the pull knob and I assume this attaches the knob to the shaft.
Please don't tell me removing that pin is the answer. I'll likely destroy the knob in the process.
Thanks in advance!
PS I got to use my Whitworth wrenches today!
