Keith,

Define windshield "stays".

Cheers,

Curt

Hi Curt
Thanks for your interest,
The Bn1 windscreen folds backward and locates into two small
chrome brackets that keep the windscreen in place when in the lower position
and the windscreen stay slots into each bracket that has a hole in it.
Cheers Keith.

I have a selection on 100 windshield parts but am still not clear about what you are looking for.
On each side there is a 3/4" x 1/4" bar with a slot in one and a round hole in the other. Is that it?

Hi Michael
The brackets measure 160 long x 25 wide and located 300mm in front
of the windscreen stanchion
so that when you detach the windscreen the peg in the bottom of the staunchion
slots in the hole in the bracket.
these are found on the Bn100/4 models only
i hope that helps.
if you need a photo i will try and forward on to you
regards Keith.

Keith,

I believe that you are talking about the aluminum side frames or "pillars" are they are sometimes called.

These are available for £705.38 each from SC parts...

https://www.scparts.co.uk/sc_en/british-cars/austin-healey/austin-healey-bn1-to-bj8-1952-1968/windscreen-side-screens-and-glass/windscreen-and-interior-driving-mirror-bn1-to-bn7-bt7.html#12

Understand that the pillars, and the stanchions that they fit into were numbered and matched from the factory, as they were hand fitted parts.

For example on my car, both my left side pillar and stanchion were stamped C87 and the right side were stamped C97. Mated and matching both left and right.

To make parts from various other windscreens fit, you will need to strip the chrome from the brass stanchions and then hand fit/file these to match the pillars.

See the attached photos and you will clearly see the file marks,

Cheers,

Curt

Hi Peter
Thanks for the feedback but the brackets i am chasing are not connected to the windscreen
they are located on top of the left and right mudguard in front of the windscreen
and found only on bn100/4 vehicles
Cheers Keith

Keith,

A few points to consider, and please take this in the spirit intended.

Let's try to use standard terms. One way to do this is to just look at the many parts catalogs available online for Austin Healeys. These catalogs are from the USA... Moss and Victoria British and the UK... AH Spares, Ahead4healeys, and SC Parts (German?) and will tell you what the standard terminology for parts are.

A quick check of the available catalogs shows...

The Ahead4healeys catalog will not only show you that the part you need is called a "foot", but it's available for £32.25.

http://www.ahead4healeys.co.uk/WINDSCREEN--WS--ct196.aspx

Also available from Moss USA for $59.99.

Ahttps://mossmotors.com/foot-forward-windshield-position?assoc=6641

Also available from AH Spares for £31.50.

https://www.ahspares.co.uk/austin-healey/big-healey/windscreen-glass/foot-chromewindscreen.aspx

Also, what you refer to as "mudguards", are "Fenders " in the USA and "WIngs" in the UK. Just check the various catalogs for terms or better yet, get a Factory Parts Manual for terms.

Cheers,

Curt

Here are the photos..,

● "Stanchion", both left and right. Numbered to match the appropriate "Pillars".

● "Pillar", both left and right. Numbered to match the appropriate stanchion.

● "Link", both left and right. Used to connect the stanchions to the pillars.

● "Foot", Supports the Pillars in the lowered position.

● "Knurled Knob", "Shouldered Bolt", "Locking Screw" left hand thread. Locks the Pillar in place with the Link.

● "Pins", four total, two per side in Pillars, and used to align and secure to either the stanchion or the foot.

The rest (security spring assembly, knob and washer) can be figured put from the afore mentioned catalogs.

It appears that the only items NOT available as reproductions are the stanchions, the four windshield frame pieces, and possibly the pillars, albeit SC Parts offers the pair at over £1,400 GBP, which may be for a pair of used original parts

Cheers,

Curt
