Hi All,

I don't suppose one of you has easy access to an empty engine bay?

I've found a bad repair to the RH engine bearer strut, and to correct it I could do with the correct measurement between the top edge of the left engine mount platform to the top of the right one, and then, to be safe, also the measurement from the lower edge of the mounting face

Any input would be appreciated

Hi Andrew, is that a Jule chassis it looks like one of mine? If it is that measurement is preset.

It may well be yours. It isn't my chassis, I just got a random photo off the internet of a perfect chassis to illustrate my request.

Mine has offside accident damage so I was hoping to get the correct measurement to help with my repair!

What ever measurement you need just let me know , I'm in the process of drawing up a complete chassis drawing from my chassis. The measurement your looking for with the red x's is on my 1955 is 22.125 inches .

Thanks for that, that's exactly what I wanted. As a child of the metric system, can I just confirm what the .125 bit equals

I'm used to 8ths, 16ths and thou. Is it 125 thou?

If you could also let me have the distance between the bottom edges of the two mounting plates, that would also be most useful.

From a mathematical point of view 22.125 inches means 22 inches and 0.125 of an inch, ie an 8th.

I'm sorry , I'm a machinist. So the measurements I meant to send is , the top red x's would be 56.197 cm and the lower measurement is 49.53 cm. Sorry for the confusion.
