Hi Lucy

This should help

https://www.britishmotormuseum.co.uk/archive/heritage-certificates

as long as you have the VIN/chassis number etc they will provide a certificate which will tell date of build, despatch, exterior/interior colour along with original equipment ordered such as wire wheel, overdrive and the like

Hello Lucy,
Just a quick note to let you know that the Austin Healey MK 1 was produced up until 1961. If yours is truly a 1964 then It has to be a MK-3 BJ8.
Here is a website that will help with th identification process.

Hi Lucy

Peter is correct. If the Healey was released from manufacturing and registered in early 1964 then it is most probably an Austin Healey Mark 3 (BJ8) Phase 1 and one of only 1300 built. As Andy provided, the documentation you will receive from the British Motor Museum will be the results of a manufacturing document search and tell you the options, color, and completion date of your car. If your car is a left hand drive car, it will most likely have been shipped to the USA for sale and later returned to Europe as the result of a resale. If this is the case, Steve Byers (US BJ8 Registry - sbyers@ec.rr.com) could also have some information on your car.

Good luck,
Ray(64BJ8P1)
