I don’t think this hole should be there but before I welded it up I figure I would ask. It appears to had been there for a switch.

That’s what I thought. Oh joy something else to fix! Although I have to refinish the thing anyway. The chrome is all shot.

It was never chrome from the factory either. Somewhere along the way somebody paid to have it plated.

I had asked the question about the chrome a while ago. Someone said they were available chromed aftermarket back in the day. Maybe JC Whitney.

Yes Ernie they must have been available aftermarket as a Bugeye I recently sold had one too.
