Since my garage isn’t heated I’ve begun to do projects in my basement. I received all of the interior and upholstery pieces last week. I decided to start on the seats. I wasn’t surprised that the seat pans were rusty but didn’t they would be trash. I went online to check out ordering new ones. WOW not cheap!
After seeing the price I figured I would repair the ones I had. Because I’m kind of cheap I grabbed the remains of the left front wing that I had left over from cutting up to repair my bonnet. After a few hours of cutting, bending, welding and grinding I now hav a very usable seat pan. Now I have to do the other one. The before picture is the one I still have to repair. The rusty piece is from the one you see finished.
The way I look at it I saved almost $500. That’s a lot of golf and beer!

Nice save. When I first got my Sprite it came with two sets of seats. One set was pretty solid and I had no idea their worth. Put them on craigs list and sold the same day for $50. lol I am sure I made that guys day.
