I didn't get a chance to grab a photo but I spotted a freshly painted Bugeye in Madill, Oklahoma today. It had a very nice and obviously fresh black paint job. It looks like a restoration project in progress with a new top and interior. The dash had new vinyl but no instruments. The headlights, turn signals and tail lights were in but no other chrome and it needs a fuel tank yet. Despite the new top and interior there were no side curtains. I didn't see any signs of a business as such but the Bugeye was parked under an awning with a plethora of other sports cars including a half dozen 240,260 and 280Z's along with a Datsun Roadster a Volvo P 1800, a Porsche and what appeared to be an early Sprite body shell. There was a 240 Z that looked like it was a Baja 500 replica with knobby tires, skidplates and Cibie lights. A nifty collection but not what I expected to find in a little town in southeast Oklahoma.
