It's been a long winter with not much going on in the car department. Some warmish weekend weather finally rolled in so I was determined to get something done. Headed out Saturday to the farm to get some parts clean in order to get cracking on the third motion shaft. I managed to have a fairly successful time reassembling the first gear assembly and the 3rd/4th synchronizer with all the little spring loaded bit ready to fly everywhere. Everything got hauled out of the basement and loaded into the Rav4 for the trek to my parent's acreage and most importantly my...

Still a few things to strip off these sections bu

Well I got everything apart this afternoon. The bearing circlips gave me a bit of a hard time and I gave a little blood to the LBC gods. Eventually I was able to get the rear one off, tap the third motion shaft forwards, then get the front one off, tap the input shaft rearwards to work the third motion shaft out of the housing. Upon removal of the third motion shaft, my stuck 1st gear when shooting all over the place as expected. Luckily I was able to retrieve all of the balls and springs. I the...
