Hello All,

I have a 60 BT7 MK1. Exterior color is black and I am looking into changing the carpet. I see Dark red and Bright Red as options. Thoughts would be greatly appreciated

Abed,

If you're not going concourse I'd say it depends on what you like. I'm not an expert but I think the bright red was what came from the factory.

kevin,
Thanks. I am not looking for concourse but rather the closest match to the dash, door and deck trim

Abed,

I got samples from AH Spares and Ahead for Healey's in England.

Drop them an e-mail and they'll send them to you no charge.

They are two distinctly different types of carpet as one is a traditional weave
on a woven backing and the other is Wilton Wool on a rubber backing.

Good luck,
Peter

Abed,
Give these folks a try they are always glad to help and are very responsive. I ordered my entire interior kit from them and the quality was outstanding. They are alway happy to answer questions and it is a family run business.

Did you ever buy that carpet and if so how was the quality? Because the prices were fantastic.
I'm thinking of purchasing carpet for my BT7 and wondered if it was worth the price?
Any information would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks
Karen =)

Hi Karen,

You know what they say "if it sounds to good to be true"??????

I got samples from "AH Spares" and "A Head 4 Healeys" in England.

The samples themselves are beautiful but there is s significant difference in the quality.

The one on the left, is Wilton Wool, which is used in Jaguars, Rolls Royce etc. and has a rubber backing.

The other one is not as plush and has a woven type of backing.

You can request samples from those guys for free then you can see for yourself.

I would want to hold a sample in my hand before I paid any amount.

The Wilton set for a center shift car is $450.

Good luck.

Abed,
The carpet I purchased from John Skinner was Wilton Wool as Peter Carbone pointed out. It is very plush and as Peter said it is used in Jaguars, Rolls Royce etc. I have a few pieces left over and if you wish I can send you a sample.
If you want a piece send me a PM with your address and i drop it in the mail.

Karen,
The carpet was not that big of a project to install. I purchased a complete interior kit from Jonathon Skinner Ltd. in England. The carpet pieces were all pre-cut and had a very nice fit. They were very high quality as was the upholstery for the seats and the dash. If you contact them they will send you samples in just about any color you could want. They are also very familiar with the correct factory colors that were offered or you can choose a custom color if you want.
