Hi Guys

Is it worth fitting rack and pinion steering to our bj8? if so do you know what car theses are fitted to that will fit ours, or does it come made for the Healey?

Many thanks

IMHO, unless you are intending to use the car for some serious competition work it is not worth the effort.
I've done it and it is not easy if you want to get things right. http://www.acmefluid.com.au/larry/ahx12-1.html
The original system, when in good condition, works perfectly well.

Jule Enterprises have been building rack and pinion set ups for all Big Healeys since 2000.
These set ups offer far better driving control than the original design. The improvements to handling and drivability are substancial.
There is simply no comparison between crown and peg steering and rack and pinion steering . Once you go rack you will never go back!
The installation requires some welding and detailed installation instructions are included.

Denis Welch Racing manufactures a new, complete, drop-in steering box that promises near rack-and-pinion performance. I've heard from those who have installed these boxes that DWR's claims are justified. NFI.
