John, deflate the spare tire until it fits. Carry a small inflator for when you need it. A lot less messy than any of the tire sealants.

I run 180R-15 Michelin XAS and can with some effort and use of a dry-cleaning bag fit it into the aperture fully inflated to 30 psi.
