I did a search but came up blank. I'd like to see what is involved in upholstering a set of Bugeye seats. I can't reverse engineer mine as they have been bodged. I don't know what's supposed be inside etc.

There are You Tube Videos on it and Porter book has a pretty extensive step by step. Although pics are in Black and White and have been reproduced too many times.

Be sure to order new Seat Bottom Foams as well. My butt currently seems to bottom out on big bumps. New Upholstery kit in the garage. Just a matter of time.

I can't find any videos on Bugeye seats. Have you got a link?

Adrian,
When you get to the point of ordering foam, seat covers, etc., check out AH Spares. My seats turned out great and the price was good. Let me see what I can find in the way of tutorials...

I'm going to make my own covers Rut. I bought a walking foot sewing machine for work and I've been practicing. I'd mostly like to see how the factory did the seat backs. The insides.

Went through all the pics of the Bugeye build but the only seat ones are from building new seat pans. No upholstery. But if you like pics of a bugeye under construction here is the library of about 500 pics that I took.

check out U Tube : "Matthew Randall Austin Healey 100-6 restoration". Matthew has made about 50 videos during the course of his restoration. upholstery starts around video 45 46, or so. Although he is restoring big Healey seats they are similar in vintage and construction to Bugeye seats. I found it very informative, Dan Samyn

I have had bottom seat foams made using new ones as a template.
These are cut using a water jet by a major foam rubber manufacturer and provide a perfect durometer for driving.
Contact me at
Frogeye@cox.net
For more details
I get $60 each

Adrian those are great seats, where can I get some? The cut-away backs should make them nice and cool.
