I'm looking for advice on replacing my battery box with a new one from either Moss or British Victoria. Any tips or pointers would be greatly appreciated. Pictures or videos would also be a great help.

This job can be done without a rotisserie but it sure makes things sooooo much easier if you have one. In my case once the battery box was out the inner kick panels bowed in. You may have to jack the panel back to the heater box. Take your measurements before you cut old one out so that it will go in the same. 62 has the starter solenoid on the heater/battery tray. AH Spares in England carries this part with the solenoid bracket made on, I don't think Moss or the others sell it this way. I'ts just a cleaner installation this way.

If you are not looking to stay original, I made this modification:

1. Much smaller and lighter Odyssey PC950 racing battery, 20lbs: http://www.odysseybattery.com/extreme_battery_specs.aspx
2. Custom battery mount from ODP in the UK. http://www.obpltd.com/

Inherited my father's 1958 AH Sprite, currently restoring from bare metal and rusty parts out of cardboard boxes after 40+ years in storage.

I like the Baille in my car, it only weights 15lbs.
