I am building a Cyclekart which is a 65% scale replica of the GP Renault that won the 1906 French GP. I know there is one going to the show (a replica but with all the right parts (mostly) so just can't wait. Wow! But its pricey.I have just finished the wooden spoked wheels which look really good and I am looking around for the right tyres now (on 17" rims). They will be white too.Chassis is almost made now and the springs were made by 'Jones Springs' in Birmingham (England) for 40 pound each. Very busy at work just now.

Jul

Location Eagles Canyon Raceway, 7629 FM 51, Decatur, TX, USA
Date July 27, 2019

Help us welcome a new event in our RoadRally series: The Targa Road Rally! We will take a tour of Wise and Denton Counties, passing through Slidell, Bolivar, Krum and other out-of-the way places. All roads are paved. As you drive, you will be looking for signs and landmarks, some with surprising answers. It will take a sharp eye to see them all. There will be some course-following challenges in Krum and Denton, so be ready to navigate precisely and avoid the traps. Our Rally Master is John Poulos. Course following elements courtesy of Liz Witt.

A "Targa" is an automotive triathlon where teams of two drivers will compete in three events (Time Trials, Road Rally, and Autocross) in the same car over 2 days. Class winners will be based on cumulative points for the vehicle, and there will be classes for all experience levels. Additional details on the Targa can be found at our website above.

You can enter this rally either as a standalone event (rally only) or as part of the Targa. If you choose to just sign up for the rally, click here. If you decide to enter the Targa, there is a separate registration process and site here, and you will automatically be registered for the rally. There is no need to register in both places. You will be scored and ranked under both Rally and Targa rules and classifications.

Rally Day is Saturday, July 27. Registration opens at 1:30 pm at Eagles Canyon Raceway (ECR), 7629 FM51, Decatur, TX 76234, northeast of Decatur and near the town of Slidell. You will have time to view cars competing in the Time Trials event on the ECR track. A Drivers meeting will be held at 3:00 pm in the Clubhouse in the downstairs classroom. The finish will be at Rudy’s BBQ, 520 South Interstate 35 E, Denton, TX 76205, on the I-35 frontage road, west side. First car starts at 3:31 pm.

This is an SCCA GTA (Games, Tours, Adventures) rally. The course is about 40 miles on public roads at legal speeds. Any street-legal, four-wheel vehicle may enter. Three or more cars of the same make may form a Team to compete for highest average score. Each Team car must run its rally independently, with no collaboration with other cars during the rally. At least two people (a driver and a navigator) are required in each car; contact rally@texasscca.org if you have a minor child

3 days of British car camaraderie, friendly people driving, showing, and enjoying all types of British-made sports and family cars!!

BAOA is based in Albuquerque, NM, and sponsors an annual event in a different city close to the Rio Grande River each year. Last year was in Taos, NM-( a Northern year), and this year, which is a Southern year, will be at Elephant Butte Lake, outside of Truth or Consequences, NM. We concentrate on a convoy from Albuquerque, through side-roads-but all paved-to the Elephant Butte Inn, on the shores of the Elephant Butte Lake.

Day #2 starts off with a 50-car British Car Show in downtown "T or C", followed with a Rally around the area and possibly out to a mining ghost town or two-the route is strictly secret-and there may be a trivia question or two-you never know! Each year is planned by a different person with different rules! At the end of the Rally, we get together to socialize-NO ONE is excluded! -and reminisce about the day.

Day #3 starts with an Awards Breakfast, with tile awards (by renown tile artist, Ace Fry) given out for the top scores in any 1 event, and top score in all events. In all, up to 45 awards will be given out. After breakfast, a North American Jag Club-sponsored slalom will be staged, as an optional event.

Call coordinators for a registration sheet and prices. Guaranteed fun for all!!

40th Annual "MGs On The Rocks" British Car Show

What was once just a gathering of a few local members for a picnic is now one of the premier annual events for all British car owners in the Mid Atlantic Region. Each year we have over 200 cars with MGs of all Models and 8 classes of other British Marques. Popular vote balloting by the car owners is from 10:00 until 1:00 and awards are given out about 3:00 p.m.

Winners, chosen by car owner peers, receive awards at their cars as the crowd walks around the show field at the end. This is one of the Murphy Cup winners for the Best MGB. If you place check our website for the picture!

Directions: From I-95 North of Baltimore take exit 77B, follow Rte. 24 West 13 miles, briefly merging with and then leaving US 1, then later crossing MD 23. After 13 miles, turn right across the one lane bridge at Cherry Hill. Pull into the 4H Camp and MGs on the Rocks on your left. Look for MG Octagon signs enroute. You can set your Navigation system to: 2 Cherry Hill Road, Street, MD 21154

If you love British cars this is the place to be the last Saturday in September. The Rocks State Park 4H Camp is an excellent country setting in rural Harford County, MD. Bring a picnic basket or purchase your lunch at the show and join the MGs of Baltimore for what has always been a superb show. Bring your parts shopping list for your ongoing renovation projects or your Christmas wish list for shirts and books. See you at the Rocks!

The things that have brought British car drivers back year after year will be there:
* A field full of British cars in a casual park setting
* Lots of vendors of new and used parts.
* A great selection of various British cars for sale.
* An unlimited supply of expertise on whatever technical or restoration problem you have.
* Classic British Invasion Era Music by Jammin Jefferson
* On site food by Uncle Moe’s Soul Food & Gill’s Ice
* A wide range of classes for awards for all British Marques.
Put your car on the field! Although we have many beautiful cars, this is very much a come as you are gathering. Only owners of cars on the field can vote.

Things To Remember

Pre-register! Awards are generally 3 per class, but may vary as pre-registration indicates. We base our new classes on pre-registrations, so if you want to justify any new classes make sure you pre-register. Dash plaques are only guaranteed to pre-registrants. Plus you can drive right past that long line of on site registrants!
Important times: The field opens at 9:00 a.m., all vendors should be in place by 10:00 a.m. Voting is closed at 1:00. Awards will take place on the showfield as soon after 3:00 as vote counting allows.
Sorry, no pets please, Park Rules.
