Hi All,
With Regard to the correct spare tire strap for the 100s, the information can be found in the Concours Guidelines. Specifically, The 2018 Photo Section, page 76 (last page) Chapter VIII - BOOT COMPARTMENT AND LOOSE EQUIPMENT, Figure VIII-21.
To add to this brief description, and for those who do not yet have the Concours Guidelines, I've attached several photos. Fellow contributor to this website Kent Lacy made these spot on, Concours correct straps years ago and then using Kent's pattern, Robert Kirk, of Kirk's Auto Outfitters had these straps made up by a local harness maker.
Unfortunately, Robert has run out of stock on hand, and his harness maker has since passed away. I hope that someone else will take on this project and start producing these straps again to this exact specification.

Here is the Concours Guidelines description, Chapter VIII. Boot Compartment and Loose Equipment, page 220 ...
Spare Wheel Securing BN1, BN2: The spare wheel is fitted into its compartment on the
right side of the boot, and is pushed forward to fill its vinyl envelope, butting against a
triangular wooden wedge covered in matching vinyl on the right side which is anchored by
three Phillips-head wood screws passing through the right hand wheel arch. An angular
curved steel tire securing iron, painted semi-gloss black is fitted with its lipped edge fitting
just under the center hub flange. The iron passes up between the spokes and over the tire
at approximately an 8:00 position. A natural-colored leather strap with a black roller-buckle
passes through the loop on the end of the iron and through a chrome loop mounted
horizontally on the vertical bulkhead (see Figure VIII-21 in Photo section).
Here is the Concours Guidelines photo description...
Figure VIII- 21: This photo shows the spare tire retention equipment used on all 100s.
The metal hold-down bar is fed between two groups of spokes to slide under the flange
of the wheel hub. When stowing the wheel, pay attention to orientation of the valve
stem so that you will be able to easily check and adjust air pressure.

Hi All,
I think that I have found a Harness Maker capable of doing the spare tire strap exactly like is shown in the photos. Anyone interested please contact me via this Post Topic, and I'll see about having a batch of them made up, and of course the price.
Cheers,
Curt

Thanks Alwyn. I already have one of the Moss ones that does not have the correct stitching pattern, so I am fine in so far as there is one on the car now. I looked at the Kilmartin one on their web site and it does not have the correct pattern either. It really is not a big deal for me as I am not going for concours with my car, but if the correct part was to come available again like Curt suggests, I would certainly get one.
All the best

Post 7 "appears" to have the water mark on the edge two far from the edge. I've posted on another thread what it should look like. Also see my pics off my site on post 1. The Kilmartin, if I infer correctly is totally wrong with a metal rather than leather strap keeper which also should have the water mark on its edge. Kent told me the hardest part to find is the buckle so buyer beware.

Great information. Does anyone have a picture of what the spare tire compartment looks like without the spare? Where does the triangular block of wood sit? How does the tire stay in? It seems it would slide out without anything holding it in from the front side. I do not see a triangular shape in my compartment nor do I have the strap or the iron bracket. Any pics would hep and vendors. Thanks!

G'day Robert L,
I hope these photos help. The first one shows the spare wheel stowed (the black thing on top of the wheel is my side-screen bag) and the second one shows the empty spare wheel stowage. The wooden wedge can be seen on the RH side. It is covered in vinyl (quite roughly in my opinion) and attached with two wood screws that come in from the wheel well.
Simple but effective!
Cheers,
Alwyn

Hi Robert, if you do a search in the search box at the top of this page with the words spare wheel stowage, there are vg photos and info on how the strap and bar work together to prevent the wheel falling off the shelf. I see you may have a BN2, in which case the spare wheel aperture behind the seats is slightly bigger and allows the wheel to slide further into this slot. It is surprising how well the strap and bar do work plus weight of wheel.
Alwyn, amazing that you also use that void above the spare wheel for the side screens! Perfect size to keep them away from the boot storage. I have spare fan belt, and small item stored there in addition.

Thanks Alwyn and Peter,
This is very helpful. The picture without the spare tire is exactly what I’ve been looking for. One more quick question what size tire are you all using as a spare? My spare has an old Firestone Deluxe Champion 7.25x 15. and it is too wide to fit in the stowage area. 165 r 15s don’t exist here. The tires I’m running are 185 15s. Thanks much!

Robert, I have a 165/15 Firestone on 4.5 x 15 72 spoke wheel as spare. It does fit ok into the slot but what I do is deflate this tyre to reduce the width that allows a bit more room for stowage of bits and then if and when needed I carry a foot pump to inflate.
