Hi, I recently fitted a Malpassi fuel filter/regulator to my BJ8. It's set at 3 psi pressure, is that about right? A couple of TR guys have said that's too high.

It runs ok, no starvation or float flooding etc but it would be good to know what the recommended setting is. I'm still on SU carbs.

Many thanks.

Steve

Hi Steve,

I agree with Daniel's statement that 3 PSI is OK. The issue is ... will the pressure overwhelm the Jet causing gas to uncontrollably leak from the carburetor. If this is not a problem, you are golden. If gas begins to leak from the bowel out the overflow, you sett the pump a little lower. However, if everything is working properly, I don't expect you will have a problem.

Hi,
I've had a malpassi for over 20 years, they are great.
You can go to 3.5 or 4, if you need more fuel volume. Over 4 you can have issues, very risky at 5.
Check the volume of fuel you are getting at 3.
