Positive earth fuel pump conversion

Richard,
Go to eBay and buy a 1.5KE24CA TVS diode, usually around $7 for five of them.
Remove the existing Varistor and wire the TVS between the two posts I circled in red.
Basically across the points, point blade screw and ground screw.
You can solder the leads to the cut-off brass terminal tags of the old Varistor.
This will make the pump useable on both positive and negative ground systems.
The TVS will limit the back EMF to 24 volts instead of several hundred volts. The points will last forever.
