Having a problem trying to see if the fuel gauge is operating properly. Gauge shows empty all of the
time, though I just put a couple of gallons in. Armand

This is an extremely simple system. The gauge is a voltmeter and the sender in the tank is a float that moves a contact across a variable resistor coil. Pull the green and black wire off the back of the gauge and connect the terminal on the gauge to ground. That should send the gauge to "F" or beyond. If that happens then the gauge is working and your problem is more likely to be the sender in the tank. If nothing happens then either the gauge is bad or the hot green wire going to the other side of the gauge is not supplying voltage.
