Putting wedges under my springs on my bug eye after upgrading the springs. Will run out of threads on stock bolts so was wondering if there is a source for correct longer U bolts or should I just make up some new ones.

Kurt,

Don't know of a source for longer U bolts. But you could do what the racer types do and remove a few of the shorter leaves to soften up the rear end. They usually remove leaves 2, 4, and 6. That would gain you a few threads and improve the handling.

Rick, some of those leaves have been replaced with the thicker leaves from one of the newer 10 leaf spring's. Your idea is a good one and if I eliminate a couple of leaves I also likely will not need as thick of a wedge. Softer spring and less for the U bolt to get around! They are a tad too stiff now....stock was too soft.

You can get choices for that bolt and thread spec from and bolt and screw supplier... Out in this region I go to Tacoma Screw... I upgraded to #5 also...
