I'm 5'11" and have about 1.5" with the top up -- comfortable. I'm all torso, however. So,
a guy with longer legs could be several inches taller and still fit fine. B's have tons of leg
room.

Had one at age 23. At 6'5", suprised I could fit in it! Not so with Healys & Triumphs.Probably shrunk an inch or two since then! Now 59, I will be looking for another in awhile. Good luck with your nice MGB.

Update -- it rained here today and I put the top up. My headroom memory was too generous. If I sit up very straight, my hair has about 1/2" clearance to the top. That said, my cousin is 6'4" and has a '69 B. I've never heard him complain. Good luck.
