Acquired this hardtop and attempting to identify it. It has triplex glass with old style BMC markings. The inside of the top is grey with white speckles. The top has a wrinkled texture finish.
Should this be a smooth finish or is it possible someone applied the wrinkle?

There are two tops that look like that. Both are correct period and look almost identical, but one is BMC and the other is Donald Healey Motor Car company. The latter requires taller side screens and is a rare top to find. Yours looks to be the more common BMC version. The texture you describe inside and out is not original. BMC tops were usually white, sometimes black.

They did ship to the US I verified it by Serial # and confirmed it with the Heritage. the car was 1 of 42 shipped to San Francisco, also all of the numbers are in the car in green & yellow markers no numbers were under the bonnet as it had been wrecked and re-painted

Interesting, I've never heard that before. Does it use the same number sequence as the factory built cars? What is the chassis number? Curious if there is a designation in the chassis number that would indicate it's CKD.
