Drove the GT downtown to see if we could get a good picture and lucked out!
Nobody was parked in front of the mural and the sun was on the right side by this time of the day.
Parked and got a quick snap before someone could complain about parking in a yellow zone.
This mural was painted in 2014 and dedicated by Yeardly Smith.
And the plaque from Matt Groening signifying that this is "the real Springfield" is in City Hall a block in front of the GT.

Spring In Bloom

Have been working in the yard for a couple of months to get it looking good and now the flowers are coming out. Had a nice sunny day yesterday, so pulled the GT out and posed it in the same place in front of the snowball bush. The blooms are just about at their peak and won't last too long.
Posed this last year when the bush was in fall colors in October.
Looks so much better now.

Then went for a drive looking for other places to pose the car.

More pictures for the record. These are interior shots.
I built this car the way I had always wanted to do it, with updates and upgrades, but still using as many factory parts as possible.
Seats are from a 1972 with Moss Custom Deluxe seat covers with the additional lumbar support that only the MGC got and additional air adjustable lumbar support.
The dashboard is from a 1973 that includes the backlit air controls and switches. Of course, the radio console and armrest match the dash.
The doors are fitted with electric window lifts and the switches are hidden in the ashtray.
Rear Sail panel covers are custom made to match the late GT patern with black below the window bottom.
Custom made dead pedal and passenger footrest and all the additional MG badges like the classic MGs.
There are 20 MG logo badges on the car for shows.

Backed the GT out of the shop to take a few pictures for the insurance record. Realized with all the rushing to get the car finished for the trip and prepping for the shows, that I hadn’t really taken any pictures of the finished car. Had asked Joe at Vintage Underground work up an honest appraisal of the value of the car to turn in to our new insurance agent and I wanted to have pictures to go with that.

MGC Day Tour To The Coast October 16th

Organized a tour for the British Motor Club of Oregon on what may have been the last Saturday in October with nice weather. Fog in the valley at the start, clearing to sunny skies in the Coast Range foothills, and all the way to the coast and back. Led seven other British cars including another MGC GT, a Healey 3000 Mk III, TR8, an MGA, an MGB and an XJ6. Stopped at the nice restaurant for brunch (after calling ahead they had a large table ready for us all) and then at the Heceta Head Lighthouse. Drew a crowd everywhere we went and had to work at getting photos without other people in the pictures. The extra stop at the Wild Cat covered bridge on the way back was good for photos, too. About 150 miles, round trip, and a very good time for the last tour of the season.
